ANIMANIACS

Year of release
1993

Animaniacs is a fun-filled crazy cartoon saturated in light family satirical humour from the talented and successful Steven Spielberg. It stars the Warner Brothers and Warner Sister with the names of Yacko, Wacko and Dot.

These caffeine-high super three have personalities similar to the alter-ego Mask which guarantee achieving success against the bad guys through teasing and humour. This is entertaining and funny animation with rhyming lyrics that surprisingly make a great deal of sense.

Along the way we meet the clueless Pinky, power-seeking Brain, Dr. Otto Scratchensniff, the poor dog Buttons who has to continuously save the life of the small adventurous child Mindy, cat and dog duo Rita and Runt, the somewhat romantic Slappy the Squirrel and a mob of pigeons.

Although Warner Brothers' Looney Tunes characters have become the Warner signature, the Animaniacs do compare to the such cartoon greats and the animation quality for the time is much better than that of Klasky Csupo's Rugrats series. The Animaniacs are truly 'zany' as the theme tune states and it is great to have them pick fun at the Looney Tunes and Warner Brothers Brands
