Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace (1999) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Review | Cast | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The long awaited movie was, to some, a dissapointment. Perhaps, after such a long rest since the previous movie, people were expecting something very good. But, for those who were not expecting the great, the movie was excellent and the graphics equally as commendable. The movie is the first of the series of six, and it introduces Anakin Skywalker as a small child who finds great success in pod races. A boy who becomes a Jedi knight, and will later turn to the dark side under the famous alias of Darth Vader. How Anakin joins the force is an interesting story. Qui-Gon Jinn is visiting the planet of Tatooin with his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi, and discovers the talents of the young slave Anakin Skywalker, who has already mastered the mechanics and racing of pods. The movie has, despite the opposing opinion of those who expect too much, great graphics and the mystery that lies within it both divesifies it from previous movies and adds to the effect.
